The Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings came away from Yorkton with two wins on the weekend and moved above the .500 mark as they head into the Christmas break. The Wings are now 11-10-2-1 on the season and sit in fourth place in the SAAHL South Division.

The Wings started out the weekend Saturday with a 1-0 win over the Midget Terriers at the Farrell Agencies Arena in Yorkton.

The low scoring affair saw the Wings scoring the lone goal of the game late in the first period. Kale Williamson was able to find the back of the net with an even-strength goal. The assists went to Brogan Schmeltzer and Hudson Hall.

In goal, Kobe Kmita made 20 saves to earn the shutout.

The two teams met again on Sunday, and again Weyburn picked up the victory. This time, the final score was 4-1.

Once again, Weyburn got the first goal of the game. Rylan Neiszner scored with just 56 seconds left on the clock in the first period. His goal was unassisted.

The Wings would then add to the lead early in the second period. Hudson Hall tallied 3:40 into the middle frame. The assists went to Kale Williamson and Spencer Ordahl.

Yorkton would get on the board before the end of the period when Colby Ross got the puck past Matt Dutchak. The short-handed marker would be the only offence the Terriers would muster on the day.

It only took 1:25 into the third period for Weyburn to extend the lead back to two goals. Baron Lawrence would score, assisted by Rylan Erb. Erb would then score a goal of his own six minutes later. Parker Douglas and Gavin Doud picked up the assists.

The Midget AA Wings are now off for Christmas. They return to action on January 5th, when they host the Melville Midget Millionaires at Crescent Point Place.
