Weyburn's own Eagles Basketball star Jacob Butz, 17, has committed to Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
Butz, who has been playing basketball since Grade 3 at APES, shared what he most enjoys about the game.
"I really enjoy everything about basketball, but my favourite part is the competitiveness of the game," he said.
He said what he most looks forward to about his opportunity to play college ball is, "playing against new and stronger competition, receiving better coaching and next level training."
The 6'3" tall baller offered advice for younger athletes who may aspire to take their game to the post-secondary court.
"It's important to play lots of sports at a young age, because it can help open up more opportunities throughout your life."
Butz will complete his studies in Weyburn and graduate with his class before moving to Wolfville.
