Team Haupstein is looking to deliver at the 2019 under-18 curling provincials this year in Regina.

The team has had a great season so far; finishing third at Junior Provincials in Saskatoon this past December, having all four members qualify for the 2019 Mixed Doubles Provincials in Weyburn, and winning the 2019 High School Provincial Championship just last weekend.

The team, consisting of lead Abbey Johnson, second Emma Wiens, third Shayla Moore, skip Emily Haupstein, and coaches Danette Tracey and Clare Johnson, have had a very memorable season so far but want to finish the curling year off with a CURLSASK Provincial title.

Looking for that green jacket, the girls started out on the right foot, downing Team Soika 8-2 in six ends Friday morning. The team moved on to the "A" event semi-final where they faced the 2018 Sask Winter Games Champs Team Madison Klieter out of Saskatoon. The team was down 6-1 halfway through, mounted a comeback, but just came short losing 7-4.

The Haupstein rink had their third game of the day against Team Fahl out of Shellbrook. The game did not start the way the girls planned as they found themselves trailing 5-2 after half. They battled back and brought the game into an extra end where they would steal the win. The final score was 7-6.

The girls now move on to play their rivals and the defending champions in Team Ackerman at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. A win will put them in the "B" event final, with a loss they will drop to the "C" event semi-final.

You can 'hurry hard' and catch their games live-streamed on their facebook page "Team Haupstein" or live at the Callie Club in Regina.
