The senior boys’ basketball team from Weyburn Comprehensive was on the road this past weekend, travelling to North Battleford for a tournament.

The Eagles opened the tournament again North Battleford Comprehensive Friday. They overcame the competition with a 62-46 win. From there, the Eagles played the host squad from John Paul II High School from North Battleford and again earned the victory, this time 80-73.

It set up a clash in the finals against a tough Lloydminster team on Saturday. A slow start from WCS would prove to be a key difference, though, as Lloydminster carried on to an 85-67 win.

The Eagles returned home with a silver medal from the tournament. The senior boys are now off until January 5th, when they will travel to Moose Jaw for a tournament.
