The female Midget AA Aaron Well Servicing Drillers are off to the next round of the SHA provincial playoffs. They topped the Swift Current Broncos 5-4 in the total point, two game series which wrapped up at Crescent Point Place Thursday night. The 2-2 draw was all the Drillers needed to advance to the next round.

The Drillers were the first to get on the board, when Kirsten Perras scored at the 3:06 mark of the second period. Kaycee Mullinger was credited with the assist on the goal. The Broncos quickly replied, though as Sara Kendall scored just 29 seconds later. The Broncos would then take the lead before the period ended, when Baylee Kirwan got the puck past Drillers goalie Kim Kary.

Weyburn would rally to tie the game up in the third period, when Perras scored her second of the game. Brooklyn Maclean was credited with the assist. Neither team was able to break the deadlock, and the Drillers took the win on aggregate.

The Drillers will face either Notre Dame or Estevan in the SHA South Final. The series will be played in the first week of March. Until then, they do have some league action to take care of.

The Drillers open league playoffs Saturday afternoon, when they travel to take on the Regina Ravens. Game two of the best-of-three opening round series will be played in Weyburn on Sunday.
