Weyburn's Graham DeLaet won't be competing on the PGA tour any time in the foreseeable future.

The 36 year old Weyburn golfer took to Twitter this morning to provide an update on his ongoing back issues, which have kept him off the PGA Tour since last Fall.

"Recent imaging has shown that my stem cell injection treatment from late last year has not helped regenerate my L4-L5 disc and in fact has gotten worse since the procedure. I've seen multiple doctors over the past couple months with hopes of getting direction so I can be pain free and play again. As a result, I've decided to go with a L4-L5 microdiscectomy surgery. It is the same procedure I had on a different disc in 2011. Recovery time will be anywhere from 6-12 months. I've exhausted every other option and I know from past experience that this will give me the chance to compete at my best again."

Over his career, DeLaet has 3 second place finishes and 3 third place finishes, but has yet to win a PGA Tournament. Despite that, the Weyburnite has career earnings of more than $11 Million dollars.
