Candace Chisholm’s rink has improved their record to 2-2 at the Viterra Provincial Scotties, after a pair of wins late Wednesday. The team, which curls out of Carlyle, features Chisholm, who hails from Weyburn, with third Lana Vey (Regina), second Natalie Bloomfield (Carlyle) and lead Kristy Johnson (Estevan).

In the morning draw in Melfort Wednesday, Chisholm was up against the Silvernagle rink from North Battleford. In the 10th end, down by two, Chisholm scored two to tie the game up at sixth. In the 11th end, though, a single by Silvernagle game them the 7-6 victory.

Team Chisholm bounced back in the second draw of the day, as they took on the Barker rink out of Moose Jaw. Chisholm took advantage of hammer in the first end, putting up three, and had quickly jumped out to a 5-2 lead by the end of the third end. They built up an 8-5 lead, and when Barker scored a single in the ninth, the two teams moved the rocks aside for the tenth, with Chisholm taking the 8-6 win.

In the evening draw, the rink from Carlyle Was up against Ashley Howard’s rink from Regina. Chisholm stole four-point in the first four ends, taking a 4-0 lead. While Howard was able to get on the board in the 5th with two, the damage was done, and after Chisholm scored three in the ninth end, Howard conceded, giving the Chisholm rink it’s second win in a row, and second of the day.

The Provincial Scotties resume Thursday. Chisholm is on the ice in the afternoon, taking on the Amber Holland rink from Davidson. It is followed up with a game against the Eberle rink out of Regina in the evening.

The Provincial Scotties wrap up on Sunday in Melfort.
