The top two teams in the Big Six met for the second time this season as the Carnduff Red Devils welcomed the Redvers Rockets to the Fast Centennial Arena.

However, what was expected to be a back-and-forth battle between the two teams ended up being a runaway victory for the home squad.

Trevor Geiger opened the scoring just 26 seconds into the game, potting a rebound for his first goal of the season to give Carnduff the early 1-0 lead. Redvers would even the score midway through the period as Drew Hoff skated over the blueline and snapped his 6th of the year past Carnduff's Cody Dumaine to tie the game 1-1.

Before the period would end, the Red Devils would get two big goals heading into the intermission. After Brandon Trask was poke-checked on a breakaway, Mark Moriarty followed up on the play and had the puck bounce off his body and into the back of the net for his 5th of the season. Then Blake McMillan sniped a seeing-eye shot through a screen and past Redvers' netminder Thomas Bauche to make it 3-1 Carnduff after the first period.

A penalty-filled 2nd period for the Redvers Rockets would follow, not only allowing the Red Devils to pull away but halting any offensive effort from Redvers.

Carnduff would score on two separate powerplay's in the 2nd period, with Devon Carriere getting his 2nd goal of the year and Zach Halverson banging home his 1st goal of the season to make it 5-1 after two periods.

The Red Devils would extend their lead in the final frame, with Carriere scoring his second of the game on another powerplay and Matt Audette one-timing home his 7th of the year to make it 7-1 for Carnduff. Kevin Mann would backhand his 5th of the year for Redvers late in the game to round out the scoring in a 7-2 victory for Carnduff.

Carnduff (7-1) has now won four straight games and is in top spot in the Big Six Hockey League, while Redvers (5-3) sees their own 4-game win streak snapped. Carnduff has now won both games over Redvers this season, beating the Rockets 5-1 on November 8th.
