The Yellow Grass Junior Wheat Kings in action on the weekend, opening the QVHL season with a pair of games.

On Saturday, they fell 10-1 to the Bredenbury Tundra in Bredenbury. The Wheat Kings went 0-for-13 on the power play.

Sunday afternoon, the Wheat Kings won their home opener. They beat the White Butte Eagles 5-4. Connor Lafoy scored the game-winner late in the third period.

The next game for the Wheat Kings will be Saturday when they host Bredenbury.

Midget

The Midget Barber Motors Silverado Wings played a pair of games on the weekend and won both of them.

Friday, they topped the Carnduff Red Devils 5-4 in Carnduff. They followed the victory up with a 9-5 win over the Estevan Wolves Sunday at Crescent Point Place.

The Silverado Wings are back in action next Tuesday when they host Milestone.

The Midget AAA Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings played host to the Battleford Sharks for a pair of games on the weekend.

The Sharks won the game Saturday evening 9-0.

Sunday afternoon, the Gold Wings fell to the Sharks 7-3. Jayden Lindholm, Mahteya Dumelie, and Janna Keisig scored for the Gold Wings in the loss.

The next league game for the Gold Wings will be next Wednesday when they travel to Melville to face the Prairie Fire.

The Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings were scheduled to play in Regina Saturday against the Vics. The game was postponed, however, due to a lack of officials for the game. No date has been set to make it up. The Wings are now off from league action until November 18th, when they host Melville.

Bantam

The Bantam AA Crescent Point Energy Wings on a northern road trip this weekend. The trip didn’t go as well as they would have hoped, though.

Friday night, they fell 7-0 to the Prince Albert Pirates. On Saturday, they headed south to Saskatoon, where they suffered a 7-2 setback against the Saskatoon Stallions.

The Bantam AA Wings return to the ice Tuesday when they host the Prairie Storm Lightning.

The Bantam Prairie Sky Co-Op Wings traveled to Moose Jaw to open their season Sunday against the Oilers. The Oilers would be the ones coming out on top, though, winning 4-2.

Caleb Gill and Braden Hala scored for the Wings in the loss.

Pee Wee

The Pee Wee AA Youngfellow Wings are still undefeated on the season, after picking up a win over Swift Current Sunday morning. They beat the Swift Current Pee Wee Broncos 4-3.

Ty Mason scored twice, while Quinn Mantei and Connor Kerr added singles for the Wings, who are back in action on November 18th, when they host the Moose Jaw Pee Wee Warriors.

Atom

The Atom AA Panther Drilling Wings were in Estevan for a tournament this past weekend. They opened the tournament Friday night with a 3-3 tie against the Regina Tigers. Saturday, they fell 8-7 to Springfield, Manitoba, after rallying back from a five-goal deficit. Following that game, they lost 5-3 to Lumsden.

Sunday, the Tigers and the Wings met up again in the D side final. The Tigers would be the ones to come out on top, with a 5-3 final.

The Wings are now off until November 18th, when they head up to Yorkton for a pair of games.
