It was a different night but a similar result for the Weyburn Red Wings. They fell 7–2 for the second straight night and lost to the Estevan Bruins for the seventh time this season.

Another slow start by the Wings had them in an early hole on the road. Two Estevan goals in the first 6:03 got the ball rolling.

Trying to spark the boys on his team, Tristan Petire squared off with Tristyn DeRoose right at centre ice for one of the best fights I've ever seen. Both stood and chucked for a solid 30 seconds before Petire scored the takedown on the Bruins forward.

In the second period the Wings showed signs of life and got on the board. Jevon Schwean hammered home his sixth of the season on the powerplay to cut the lead in half. Estevan would restore their two-goal lead, before Drew Anderson buried his eighth of the year in tight to bring his team right back in it.

Anderson's line consisting of him, Dawson Mckenzie and Ty Brown continued to have a productive night and had a few other great scoring chances.

The 3–2 deficit would be as close as the Red Wings got on this night, as Turner Ripplinger and Michael McChesney found the back of the net before the end of the middle frame.

Estevan kept coming and McChesney would complete the hat-trick with a pair of third period goals and helped stretch the Bruins lead to 7–2. The Red Wings had chances throughout the night, but a couple goal posts and a few big Kadin Kilpatricks saves kept the score lopsided.

With just 16 seconds to go in the game, Zac Gladu and Austin King-Cunningham got the fans cheering one last time with a spirited scrap. Check out the video below.

The eighth straight loss for Weyburn drops them to 0–6–2 in the month of February and paired with a Melville overtime loss on Saturday, the Wings now sit two points back of the Millionaires for the final playoff spot.
