The Weyburn Beavers finally get the chance to play at Tom Laing Park tonight. They host the Regina Red Sox for the home opener. The two teams were scheduled to meet Friday, but the rains in Weyburn forced the postponement of the game. The game Saturday was also called due to weather.

Dan Crooks will be getting the start on the mound for the Beavers. The senior from Lubbock Christian University will be getting his first taste of the WMBL.

The speed of the team will also be on display, with two of the stolen base leaders in the league on the team. Corey Wheaton had four stolen bases in Monday’s 7-3 win over Yorkton, and Keaton Greenwalt had two in the season opener against Swift Current last Thursday.

The game tonight starts at 7:05 p.m. at Tom Laing Park.
