The Bantam AA Crescent Point Wings are off to the second round of the league playoffs. The edged by the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-3 Sunday afternoon in the third and deciding game of their league playoff series.

The Wings were lead by Steven Kesslering, who got it all started just two and a half minutes into the game, when he slid the puck past Moose Jaw goalie Jaxson Taupert. Morgan Anderson and Chris Otterson were credited with the assists. Moose Jaw would tie it up moments later, though, on a goal from Jaxsen Wiebe.

Zac Robins would pull the Wings back out front before the end of the first. Taking a feed from Anderson, Robins scored a power play goal with just a little over three minutes remaining in the opening stanza. Chris Otterson was credited with the other assist.

Neither team would score in the second period, setting up a tense finish at the Bert Hunt Arena in Moose Jaw.

The Wings would extend the lead to two goals in the third, when Kesslering scored his second of the game at the 7:32 mark of the period. Jake Young was credited with the assist on the goal. Moose Jaw wasn’t going to back off, though, with the season on the line.

Caelan Fitzpatrick would make it a one goal difference, when he scored for the Warriors just before the halfway mark of the period. It would become a tie game two minutes later when Quinton Ross scored a power play goal.

The Wings, who were considered by many to be the underdogs coming into the series, still had a lot of fight left in them, though. With just over six minutes left on the clock, Robins was sent to the box for cross-checking. On the ensuing power play, the Wings forced a turnover, and Steven Kesslering would score the game winner unassisted, finishing the hat trick.

The Bantam Wings will now get ready for the next round of the playoffs. They will be taking on the top seeded Yorkton Bantam Terriers Wednesday night in a best of three series, which opens Wednesday night in Yorkton.
