A perfect weekend for the Bantam B Young Fellow Wings. They entertained the Moose Jaw Oilers Saturday and the Caronport Cougars Sunday and picked up wins in both games to improve to 4-5 on the season, just four points back of the first place Cougars.

Saturday afternoon, the Wings held off the Oilers to pick up a 4-3 win.

Neither team was able to score in the first period, then Weyburn came out firing in the second period.

Lucas Hughes scored at the 5:46 mark of the second, with Luke Forbes picking up the assist on the goal. Hughes then scored an unassisted tally just 16 seconds later, making it 2-0 Weyburn.

With 7:19 left in the second period, Parker Sexsmith then scored an unassisted goal making it 3-0 for the home side.

Moose Jaw replied with just 1:12 remaining in the period, as Colin Heslop got the puck past Kyron Muchowski.

In the third period, the Oilers came out flying, and tied the game up before the halfway mark of the period, thanks to goals from Zsombor Deak and Tate Macdiarmid.

The Wings would rally to take the lead, though. Forbes scored his second of the game with 8:24 remaining, assisted by Jack Bobier and Sexsmith.

Sunday the Young Fellow Wings took on the Caronport Cougars. Again, the Wings picked up the win, shutting out the Cougars 2-0.

Sexsmith scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal with 3:07 left on the clock in the first period. Luke Forbes then added the second goal for the Wings in the second period, with 5:20 remaining. His goal was assisted by Memphis Walter and Kegan Kmita.

Muchowski was perfect in goal for the shutout.

The Young Fellow Wings now have some time off. They resume league action on January 20th, when they take on the Cougars again, this time in Caronport.
