Graham DeLaet finished his weekend with another strong finish, ending the Genesis Open in Pacific Palisades, California in a tie for 17th overall.

The Weyburn native had started out with a rough opening round, shooting a 2-over 73 on Thursday, before rebounding in the final days of the tournament. DeLaet shot consecutive 68’s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to finish the weekend at -7.

Sunday, DeLaet opened with a birdie on the first hole of the day, as he opened on the back nine. This was followed up with a birdie on 11. He added back to back birdies on the ninth and tenth holes of the afternoon, before a bogey on knocked him back a stroke. He would recover with another birdie on his 12th hole of the day, but closed out the round with a bogey to finish with a 68.

DeLaet jumped out 12 spots in the FedEx Cup ranking with his finish.

Moose Jaw’s Adam Hadwin was also playing in the Genesis Open. He finished in a tie for 34th, ending his weekend at 4-under.

DeLaet now prepares for the Honda Classic, which tees off this coming Thursday in Florida.
