Weyburn's Jorde Chartrand has been named Softball Saskatchewan's 2022 Female Athlete of the Year. 

Chartrand, who is a pitcher, was selected to attend the Senior Women's National Team camp this year. From that, she partook in the Team Canada Celebration tour, played in the Canada Cup, and attended the Women's World Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. 

She also was selected to partake in the 2022 Canada Games, in which she helped lead her team to a 4th place finish. She started 5 games, one of which resulted in a shutout defeat against Team BC.

According to her nomination sheet and bio, she is regarded as "goal-oriented, dedicated and self-motivated as she graduated high school amid a pandemic and earned an athletic scholarship to play at Central Arkansas and recently transferred to UNC Greensboro."
