The Weyburn Eagles were defeated by the Estevan Elecs in the Co-op Challenge.

The second round of the series took place last night in Weyburn.

The Weyburn Senior girls played three sets, and fell 3-0.

The Weyburn Senior boys played four sets, and were defeated 3-1. They won 25-19 in the 2nd set.

“We played much better in Estevan and just couldn’t get in a rhythm here in Weyburn," Coach Cory Olson said. "Sometimes it’s tough to play at home and the atmosphere added an element of pressure that some rise up and for others it can be a challenge staying focused. We have a really good competitive squad but struggle with consistency.  We have five weeks to sharpen things up when our playoffs start.  We are hosting the Southern playoffs here in Weyburn from November 11th to the 12th."

Despite the loss they beat Estevan in funds raised. Estevan raised $229 and Weyburn raised around $525.15, plus a few boxes of non-perishable food items. Co-op matches the donations and the proceeds will go to the local food bank.
