The Weyburn Agricultural Society is holding its Fall Brawl Demolition Derby on Saturday, September 24th.

Over 14 cars are currently registered for the event, with added heats of trucks and modified this year.

“We have some modified cars coming back, we had them a few years ago and they were they were lots fun,” Entertainment Director, TJ Metheral said. “They're souped-up, they really fly around the ring and put on a really good show so people might want to come check them out.”

Metheral explained how these cars are modified, and the benefits of the modifications.

“They have souped-up engines, they have smaller hard tires their frames are pre-bent, they have more bracing, more supports throughout the car to toughen the car up, they just move a lot quicker.”

The Weyburn Ag Society had a good turnout for its Rumble in the Ring at the fair this summer.

“We have Rumble in the Ring during the fair, and then we finished the year off with the Fall Brawl Demolition Derby,” Metheral said. “We get a few of the cars that were left over from the fair, and then we have some new guys come in and want to smash up the cars. I mean, it's quite a spectacle and lots of fun for everyone.”

The event takes place on September 24th in front of the fairgrounds. The gate opens at 12:00 p.m. and the derby begins at 1:00 p.m.

It costs $10 for people 13 years old and over, it’s $5 for kids between the ages of six and 12, and children five and under get in for free.

Tickets do not have to be purchased in advance.
