The WCS Eagles football team is going for gold! After beating Regina on Regina's home turf, they are on the way to Saskatoon tomorrow to compete for the 5A provincial title.

"This is the gold medal game, at the Saskatoon minor football field. It's against Bishop James Mahoney. They are the same team that came down to Weyburn last year for the provincial semi. It was a very good game last year 24-13 was the final for us of course," told Head Coach Jody Kerr.

It is supposed to snow throughout the game though, so the team has been taking practice outside of the gym to prepare properly for the upcoming chilly game.

"Because of the university game that's going on up there, SaskTel and Shaw will not be covering the games, so it won't be recorded that way and it won't be live streamed. So you kind of have to be there to watch it the first time. We will take a camera and have the video available afterward."

Kerr noted they are hoping to hold onto the title for another year.

"You don't get these opportunities very often our school has only won it twice in the history of our school, so we have a chance for number three this year, so we've got to take advantage and make sure that our kids are pumped and ready, and know that this might be the only chance in their life to play for something like this," he commented.

To save some gas money, some of the parents have organized themselves to take a bus up to Saskatoon. In all, Kerr said there is around 40 taking that trip.
