The play of the U15 Weyburn Young Fellows Thrashers has been unreal as of late. It may seem like a superlative, but the defensive performances from the team over their last four games is something rarely seen in box lacrosse. They have allowed just two goals over that span, something rarely seen in the sport.

Here are some numbers to put things into perspective. In the six-team South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League, the average goals against per game is 9.76. The average goals-against for the Young Fellows Thrashers this season has been 2.17. Over the past four games, they have allowed an average of 0.5 goals-against per game.

Thursday night, the Young Fellow Thrashers were at home against the QCMBL Snipers out of Regina. The Thrashers would post their second shutout of the season, and second in three games, with a 6-0 victory. Weyburn was led by Hudson Maloney, who had four goals in the win. The other goals came from Shiloh Mickler and Nathan Rosengren.

The U13 Young’s Equipment Thrashers were at home Thursday, taking on the visiting QCMBL Vipers from Regina. The Thrashers would take an early lead scoring four goals in the first period, and went on to a 7-1 win.

The Thrashers were led by Cooper Dammann, who finished the game with three goals. Weyburn also got some offence from Cogen Baumgartner, Harrison Baumgartner, Jep Furgason, and Landon Leroux.

The U17 Panther Drilling Thrashers took to the road Thursday, travelling to Regina to take on the QCMBL Chill. Their opponents, though, had a hot start to the night, as they would score six goals in the first period en route to a 10-2 victory.

Weyburn would get goals from Branson Law and Brody Morrice in the loss.
