Whether or not you're making the 5:00 p.m. deadline today to apply for Christmas Assistance or the Adopt-a-Family program through the Weyburn Salvation Army, their Food Bank is there year-round to ensure you have what you need.

"If somebody needs help with food, we do allow them to come use our services once a month," said Community Ministries Worker Shannon Fodchuk.

She said they even do their Food Bank 'grocery-shopping style', with the client taking what they know they'll eat. She said this results in less waste for everyone.

"We're appointmen- based, so give us a call and we can set you up with appointment, or even if you don't have a phone, you can stop by and we'll make you an appointment if we can squeeze you in and we will try our best, but we are very busy right now at this time of year."

Fodchuk noted they have help all year long with the Food Bank.

"We do have regular volunteers that help on a weekly basis, which is awesome, because we couldn't do it without our volunteers. So they are in the Food Bank helping the clients choose things and kind of keep them on track."
