Locals who enjoy a real tree for the holidays have begun finding their way down to the Weyburn Young Fellows Tree Lot, located just behind the Prairie Sky Co-op Food Store.

The Weyburn Young Fellows officially opened up the Tree Lot on Saturday afternoon, just as soon as the 480 trees were delivered from Prince Albert.

"We opened basically right when the trees came in at around 1:00 o'clock, and had a pretty busy day. I think we sold about 80 trees on Saturday, and yesterday we were also open from noon to six and sold another 50 ish trees," shared Tree Lot Chairman Len Hutchings.

He said the largest trees are around 12 feet tall.

The larger Balsalm Fir are selling for $11 per foot, and the Fraser Fir are $12 per foot. For those real-tree lovers who happen to be on a budget, the econo-Balsalm Fir are being sold at a flat rate of $50.

The lot is open Monday to Friday 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sundays 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

"All proceeds from the tree lot get donated back to the community by the Young Fellows," added Hutchings.
