While the Weyburn area didn't receive much snow overnight, with only 2 centimetres or so falling, it is enough to mark a return to winter driving conditions in the area.

The Highway Hotline was reporting this morning all highways in the Weyburn area were seeing icy and slippery sections, with swirling and drifting snow. The winds, with gusts reaching close to 50 kilometres an hour from the northwest, weren't helping matter much either.

Highway 39 from Yellow Grass, through Weyburn to Estevan, Highway 35 from Cedoux heading south, Highway 13 from the Manitoba border, west through Weyburn to Assiniboia and beyond, Highway 28 through Radville, and more, were all reporting winter driving conditions.

With the temperature expected to drop, and an expectation of flurries throughout the rest of the day, it isn't likely the conditions will be improving as the day goes on. However, you can always get the latest highway conditions by visiting the Road Report here on Discover Weyburn.
