It's a day that will go down as one of the worst in this Country's history.

December 6th, 1989 was a day where 14 woman were shot and killed in Montreal in what is now know around the world as the Montreal Massacre.

Today is National day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

Chair of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour Women's Committee, Shelley Johnson says it's important that we are all responsible for putting a stop to violence against woman.

Johnson says emotional violence is still a problem in today's society along with sexual harassment is the workplace.

Johnson adds regarding the trade union movement, they are making connections with community groups and building awareness about missing and murdered women.
