The possibility of having a public transit system in Weyburn is being explored.

Public meetings have been held and current transportation providers interviewed.

According to Wally Atkinson, who's been heading up the study, subsidized taxi services and working with the school boards will work in the short term, but there's a long term solution as well.

The long term system of flexible routes seems to make the most sense.

City council will now discuss the outcome from the reports and decide whether this should be part of the 2008 budget.
