With farmers hitting the tail end of harvest planning for next year is already getting underway.

This year there have been many problems with insects, not only in the Southeast but across the province, but there are ways to protect your crops for the next year.

Insect Specialist with the Ministry of Agriculture, Scott Hartley says start off with a good clean bin and when possible use aeration to keep temperatures low enough and the grains dry enough to avoid insect infestation.

Hartley adding this year grasshoppers and birtha army worms were some of the major problems in the province along with wheat midge.
