A two-vehicle collision Saturday in Weyburn resulted in criminal charges, and one person being taken to hospital.

The Weyburn Police Service responded to the scene of the accident on East Avenue. One of the drivers involved was given a breath demand and was subsequently charged for driving while impaired.

A woman who was a passenger in the second vehicle was treated on scene by EMS and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“Another friendly reminder to make sure you have a sober driver or choose not to drive if you have consumed any drugs or alcohol,” added Cst. Alyssa Kaczmar with the WPS.

Last week, the WPS received a total of 91 calls, resulting in 15 total charges. Nine were under the Criminal Code, with five being traffic related. One other charge was under the bylaws of the City of Weyburn.
