The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations for one of its most prestigious honours – the Golden Sheaf Award. The call for nominations came as a press release earlier this week.

The Golden Sheaf Award, which was presented to Alan and Yvonna Whitrow of Southampton Farms last year, is handed out by the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce each year at its Ag Appreciation Night. The award allows the Chamber of Commerce to recognize excellence in agricultural achievement, and to help foster rural-urban understanding and consideration.

This year’s Ag Appreciation Night is scheduled to be held on November 7th at McKenna Hall. The evening will include the presentation of the award, as well as a guest speaker – former Saskatchewan Roughrider Luc Mullinder.

The deadline for nominations for the Golden Sheaf Award is October 20th. Tickets for Ag Appreciation Night are now for sale as well.
