Dazza Mitchell put on a goaltending clinic this past weekend in Kindersley and ended up receiving honours for his efforts from the SJHL. The second-year goalie for the Red Wings was named the SJHL’s Goaltender of the Week after putting together two wins, including his first-ever shutout in the SJHL.

Over the course of the two games, Mitchell stopped 56 of the 58 shots he faced. This gave him a goals-against average of 1.00 for the two games, and a save percentage of .966.

So far this season, Mitchell has put up a 2.77 GAA, seventh best in the league, with a save percentage of .916. He has a record of 17 wins, 10 losses, one overtime loss and a shutout. This is also the second time this season he has been recognized as the SJHL’s Goaltender of the Week.
