Anyone who loves hockey, and especially if they are fans of the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings and the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings, is likely going to want to be down at the rink tomorrow, Saturday, December 3rd, for Hockey Day in Weyburn.

"We are having a day with the Red Wings and Gold Wings starting at 10:30 in the morning we will have a street hockey game with the players from both teams," shared Kenda Kittelson is with Hockey Weyburn..

"We invite all kids to come out and take part. Please dress, warm and bring your own stick."

She said this will be taking place on Mergens Street in front of the Crescent Point Place main doors.

"Following the street hockey game, we'll have an autograph session in the lobby of Crescent Point Place, so the kids are all invited to come in, warm up and hang out with the players of both organizations in the afternoon."

The Gold Wings will take on Prince Albert at 3:00 p.m. and the Red Wings take on Humboldt at 7:00 p.m.

"We encourage everyone to come out and cheer on our home team," said Kittelson.

"All kids who wear their jerseys to either game will be permitted into the game for free with a paying adult."

She said following the Red Wing game, there will be an open skate for anyone to come out and skate with the Red Wing and Gold Wing players.

"So we're looking forward to a really fun hockey-filled day," she commented. "We just wanted to draw in some fans on a day when both the Red Wings and the Gold Wings were playing at home, and it happens to be our U7 tournament in the Tom Zandee Sports arena at the same time. So both rinks should be full of people and we just really want to get everyone out and having some fun."

No registration is required, but everyone should remember to dress warm, including wearing their Wings jerseys.
