The Southeast Community Settlement Committee has a new initiative aiming to attract more immigrants to the area while easing their integration into their new communities.

According to Community Development Manager Bert Roach, the program is a useful tool in ensuring the economic growth of our area.

The iniative involves the community helping the newcomers get adjusted to the lifestyle whether it's getting a driver's liscense, bank card, or even helping them with the language.

The Southeast Community Settlement Committee is made up of members from several communities including Weyburn, Estevan, Carlyle, and Kipling.

According to Roach, over one-hundred people have immigrated to the southeast in the past two years.
