People have the opportunity to check out Heritage Village Days this week in Weyburn.

It takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

There are many activities to take part in, such as rope making, sheep herding, fur trapping, and blacksmithing.

“The fire truck rides are going to run like normal like they do every year around the village,” said Tour Coordinator, Tori Mahnke. “We are going to have the Keefes [Darren and Murray] do it again. They're awesome to ride with and a lot of fun.”

Mahnke added there will be ice cream and butter-making demonstrations as well. Many entertainers will perform at the event, including Karissa Hoffart, James Dionne, and Graham Alexander on Friday evening.

Something completely new this year is the splash zone, a place where kids can cool down. It is made of two kiddies pools and a slip and slide.

“It's where the kids can go when it's hot outside if they need to cool off a little bit,” said Mahnke. “So bring your bathing suits, and there are some water guns and everything.”

The scavenger hunt might be slightly different as they have fewer volunteers, especially on Friday.
