The Communithon Entertainment Committee has put out a call for performers for the 41st annual Weyburn Communithon. The theme this year is “Fall in Love with Communithon.”

“This year we're doing a call for performers earlier,” said Chair of the Communithon Committee, Korryn Kubashek. “Normally we wait until the end of summer and do it, but this year we're going to try a little bit earlier.”

Kubashek is excited for performances to be completely live once again this year.

“We're looking for live performances,” said Kubashek. “We can have the full audience back in in the Legion, and (we’re) just going back to our roots and having everybody there in person. You need live performers and you need the audience in there, and it's just an amazing event to have and it showcases so much local talent.”

She added they are going to try to fit every age group and era into their entertainment this year.

The goal this year is to raise $82,022.

“Every year we assess our situation, and we have the year 2022, so that brings us to $82,022,” said Kubashek. “It's just the goal we set out there that we really, really want to reach, but we would love to go past that and have a great and successful year.”

The 10 community agencies that will benefit this year are Big Brothers Big Sisters of Weyburn, the Canadian Mental Health Association Weyburn branch, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, the Weyburn Care-A-Van Society, the Community Low Income Centre, Envision Counselling & Support Centre, Inclusion Weyburn, Southeast Newcomer Services Weyburn, Spinal Cord Injury, and the Weyburn Youth Centre.

The deadline to enter is September 30th, 2022.
