A community mural project has been taking place since May, to celebrate the Weyburn Public Library centennial.

“What it is, is we have three interior shots of the library and then we have three panels that are just a series of books,” Chair of the Weyburn Public Library Board, Janet Stadel said. “It's what the stacks look like inside the library. People came, they painted them, they put in their favourite titles and it's amazing how much diversity there is in what the people put on there, like their favourite stories or their children’s favourite stories.”

The group is still meeting a few more times, and anyone is welcome to help out.

“We got half of it done in May and then we kind of broke for the summer and then we started up again here in September,”

Anyone interested in participating can join this Saturday at 10:00 a.m., and on September 24th.

The group meets in the lower level of the Library, in the program room.
