The hot weather is not only having an impact on most people around the province, it's affecting most of the crops as well.

Numbers from this week's crop report show haying is moving along nicely in the southeast, 62 per cent of the first cut of hay has been baled or silaged, that's up 22 percent from last week.

The heat has deteriorated topsoil moisture across the province as most of Saskatchewan's topsoil is sitting in fair condition.

Aside from heat stress insects were a major source of damage this week including, wheat midge, aphids, grasshoppers, diamondback moths and painted lady butterfly's.
