The U18 AAA Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings were on home ice Wednesday night, entertaining the Notre Dame Hounds. The Wings found themselves down by two after the opening period, and rallied back, but were unable to overcome the deficit, falling 4-2.

Notre Dame opened the scoring late in the first period when Kaitlyn Gilroy scored with 44 seconds remaining on the clock. Then, 21 seconds later, it became 2-0 Notre Dame when Phoebe Roberts was able to beat Hailey Sibbald.

Weyburn replied in the second period, getting on the board at the 5:07 mark. Ashton Bender scored her second of the season, assisted by Hadley Revenko.

The Hounds would restore the two-goal lead, though, as Sophie Kuzminski scored at the 7:27 mark, making it a 3-1 game.

The Gold Wings would again close the gap to just one goal, this time in the third period. Paisley Arntsen would tally her third of the campaign just 1:09 into the frame. Her goal was assisted by Jayden Baker and Rori Dickie.

Notre Dame would respond, though, as Roberts scored her second of the game, on the power play, at the 4:38 mark.

The Gold Wings will now get set to head to Swift Current. They have a pair of games against the Wildcats on the weekend, with the first game Saturday evening, and the second Sunday afternoon.
