A local group is looking to begin a cricket club in Weyburn. Rejeesh Varghese and Prem Devadas have been playing cricket for several years but because the sport isn’t currently offered in Weyburn, they have been members of the Vikings Cricket Club in Regina. 

This Saturday, August 6, there will be a FREE cricket camp offered by the Weyburn Kings Cricket Club at Jubilee Park on baseball diamond 6 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. FREE pizza will also be provided. The camp is offered to anyone between the ages of 9 to 25. 

“We would like to teach the basics to young kids and to whoever wants to learn about cricket,” said Prem Devadas. 

Varghese and Devadas also shared that while they can play the sport on a baseball diamond, they are looking for a new outdoor space to act as a cricket field.
