The 41st annual Weyburn Communithon is taking place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28th at the Weyburn Legion.

With a day filled with entertainment, and excitement, they don't have to chant 'ring those phones' quite as much if people bring in their donations to the venue.

For those who prefer to take in the event having already made their donation, today is the last day to do that in advance at their banking hubs.

"We have three hubs open, Scotiabank, Bank of Montreal and the Weyburn Credit Union," Communithon Committee Chair Korryn Kubashek said. "You can go in and leave your donations at the tills where they have the paperwork there. Fill out the paperwork and then the tax receipt will be mailed to you."

She said the business jars have been collected.

"We want to thank all the businesses that allowed us to put a jar in their business."

She said the Leaf Your Mark campaign will come to a close on Thursday.

"So if you haven't got your leaf or your card, you should stop by Prairie Sky Co-op, Pharmasave, Route 39, Home Hardware, or the Rolling Pin. Put a donation in and you can have your name put up on one of their displays."

Other ways to donate without having to go into the Legion is to call in your pledge, and at 1:00 p.m and 5:30 p.m. we will have a volunteer come to your place and pick up your donation and process it for you," she explained. "So even if you're unable to come down, we can solve that problem for you."

The other option for Friday is to park in front of the Legion and honk your horn.

"It's better if you come after 2:30 when all the school buses are are out of there. It's not as congested, but if you're down during the day, come by, honk, and we'll definitely get your pledge, pick it up, run it inside, process it and bring your tax receipt right back out to you in your vehicle."
