The city of Weyburn is looking ahead to the summer months, with plenty of job opportunities available for summer students.

Brittaney Hutt, Human Resources Manager with the City of Weyburn, said that city programming increases during the summer months. As well, she explained that Public Works and Parks have more seasonal work to do in the summer time, with the city hiring approximately 35 summer positions every year.

"We hire across many different departments, including Parks, Finance, Public Works and Leisure, so the qualifications can vary, but our typical applicants are college and high school students."

Hutt explained that the earliest that positions start is in May, but they also hire students in June and those positions run until the end August.

"We see many summer students with multiple years of service as they continue to work with us throughout their schooling. There are a number of previous summer students who have went on to full-time careers with the city."

In terms of benefits, Hutt shared that, "Summer applicants receive a leisure discount program which gives them unlimited access to our leisure facilities during their time with us."
