Weyburn City Council meets for the final time this month Tuesday evening. They will have a full agenda when they sit down in chambers at 6:00 p.m., as the water conservation bylaw, introduced last meeting, will once again be brought forward for the second and third readings.

 

The agenda will include the proclamation of Recreation and Parks Month, and the reports of council. This week, the reports expected are coming from the Parks Board, the Environmental Resource Committee, and the Airport Board. A motion will also be introduced concerning the purchase of an extrication tool for the Weyburn Fire Department.

 

New business that will be brought up includes the 2016 municipal election report, which outlines the rules, and applicable laws and bylaws, for the running of the election which is scheduled for October. There will also be discussion on the future of the board of the Weyburn Wheat Festival.
