The dreams of having a Public Transit System in Weyburn will continue to be put on hold.

At last night's meeting of city council, council declined to apply for Federal funding for the project, the reason being, it would be cost shared between the 2 sides.

The funding would have been 150 thousand dollars from both the Federal Government and city.

Another reason for the decline, according to Mayor of Weyburn Debra Button, is the possible debt of anywhere from 42 thousand to 112 thousand dollars of operating in the first year alone.

Button says they will re-visit the issue at the annual retreat later this year.
