The AAA Wheatland Stars bringing home some hardware from their final tournament of the season.

The Saskatchewan Wheatland AAA Stars, a team of 14 year olds players, captured the Silver Medal at the North American AAA Classic in Winnipeg.

In round robin action, the Stars had 4 wins to finish first.

They defeated the Manitoba Lightning 9-1 on Thursday. Brent Benson had 3 goals with Michael St. Croix adding 2 goals. Cody Miller, Graham Black, Tyler Borstmayer and Jordan Baillie had single goals with Matt Gibney picking up the win in goal.

The Stars then beat the Northern Alberta Stars Extreme 7-6 and the Manitoba Clippers 11-0 on Friday.

In the win against the Extreme, Michael St. Croix had the hat trick with Brent Benson, Rhyse Dieno, Blaine Thomson and Dayton Reinboldt adding single goals . Nate Ferris got the win in goal.

The Stars beat the Clippers 11-0. Brent Benson had 4 goals with Rhyse Dieno getting the hat trick. Ryan Murray, Dayton Reinboldt, Blaine Thomson and Dyson Stevenson had single goals. Matt Gibney got the win in goal.

In their last round robin game on Saturday, the Stars defeated Minnesota 10-6. Brent Benson had 3 goals with Rhyse Dieno and Dayton Reinboldt getting 2 goals each. Daniel Lee, Reid Jackson and Michael St Croix had single goals with Nate Ferris picking up the win in goal.

On Sunday in the A semi final, the Stars defeated the Midwest Predators 9-2 to advance to the A final. Michael St. Croix had 4 goals with Brent Benson, Dayton Reinboldt, Tyler Borstmayer, Ryan Murray and Dyson Stevenson each getting a single goal. Matt Gibney got the win in goal.

The A Final had the Saskatchewan Wheatland Stars play the NAS Extreme with the Extreme winning 2-1. Brent Benson scored the lone Stars goal and Nate Ferris was the goalie.
