Canada Day festivities this year taking place at Nickle Lake Regional Park includes the kids' bike parade and the activities at the Beaver's Den.

Park Manager Sandra Popescu said they'll even have their paddling pool open in time for the nation's big day.

"We're hoping to get a couple other kids activities going," she noted. "The last couple of years we've actually had people come out with their bikes just to be part of it, and spend the day out here, so they decorate their bikes up and join the parade."

She said they'll have prizes for that, as well as for the Site-decorating contest for seasonal and visiting campers.

"Decorate your site up and we go around and check them all out and pick a winner for the best decorated Canada Day site."

They'll have live performances on July 1st and July 2nd in the Beer gardens, and a new event this year is sure to attract even more new participants.

"We are having a new event this year, it's the Souris River Smoke Show," said Popescu. "You can register by emailing sourisriversmoke@gmail.com or you can call Henry at 306-891-2332.
