Earlier this month, Weyburn City Council approved a special occasion permit for the Weyburn Young Fellows.

The Young Fellows, who are celebrating their 100th year, have been planning a massive centennial concert in Jubilee Park to commemorate the anniversary.

This morning, word came down on just who will be playing at this huge community event.

"Today the Club is very excited to announce that our 100th Anniversary Centennial Celebration is happening this June in Jubliee Park and we're having an outdoor concert," said Chad Ror of the Young Fellows.

Sandy McCormick added, "We are very excited to announce that our headline group is Hunter Brothers and they are being sponsored by E.Bourassa and Sons and New Holland Equipment."

"Not to be outdone, we'll also have Tenille Arts and her FULL BAND sponsored by Prairie Sky Co-op," added Todd Bedore.

There will also be opening acts of Dan Cugnet and Brayden King.

This event will take place at Jubilee Park (rain or shine!) on June 30th with gates opening at 4:30 and the show starting at 6:00.

"The centennial celebration is something that the club is very excited about," said McCormick. "The community as a whole has gone through two years of hardship and we just felt it was a really good thing for the community to have and hopefully the community can get together and have a really good time."

Ror added "We are very excited. As Sandy said, it's been a couple of years of not doing a lot and we feel like bringing the community together at an outdoor concert to kick off summer is going to be just a lot of fun and well received by the community."

"This is really a gift back to the community for supporting us over the past 100 years," added Bedore. "We ask people for a lot of money and time and we have made this event available to all ages and it's going to be just a really fun day."

Tickets go on sale this Friday and will be available at Prairie Sky Co-op Home Centre or the Young Fellows website.  Tickets will be $35 for ages 13 and up, $15 for ages 5-12. Kids under the age of 5 will get in free.

"Putting on an event like this would not be possible without our sponsors," Ror noted. "We'd like to thank again E.Bourassa and Sons and New Holland, Prairie Sky Co-op, along with our gold sponsors Weyburn Credit Union and the City of Weyburn. We do have a few sponsorships available at different levels. If you are interested, you can contact Todd Bedore or Ryan Bader for more."

"The group is extremely excited about the lineup that we have and hopefully the community feels that way and gets out and buys their tickets."
