The 18U AA Weyburn Beavers were on the road this past weekend. They played two games in North Battleford against different opponents. Saturday was a match-up with the North Battleford Beavers, while Sunday was a game against the Unity Cardinals. Both games would be wins for Weyburn. 

In the game Saturday, Weyburn dominated at the plate, putting up 10 runs in the first inning en route to an 18-1 victory. 

Ryker Watt went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a home run as he drive in five runs in the victory. Ben Manning added a double and a triple and two RBIs. Also hitting doubles in the game were Dallen Oxelgren, Josh Kalman and Sam Mallory.  

The other RBIs in the game came from Oxelgren (2), Wyatt Godlonton (2), Kalman (2), Seth Deis, Mallory, Owen Klein and Keaton Husband. 

On the mound, Karston Geiger went the distance, striking out two and allowing one run on four hits in five innings of work. 

Sunday, the Beavers would be up against Unity. The Cardinals would rally to tie the game in the sixth, forcing extra innings. Once there, though, Weyburn would add five runs in the eighth inning for an 11-6 victory. 

In the eighth inning, Husband would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, allowing a run to cross. Then a single to right field by Mallory cashed in two runs, and after a walk to load the bases again, a single from Watt would add two more.  

Watt finished the game with four $BI, while Manning added two himself. Husband and Mallory had two RBI each in the game. 

On the mound, Manning got the start, and went four innings, striking out three while allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits and four walks. Mallory took over in the fifth and finished the game, picking up the win. He would see one run be scored against him, unearned, while he struck out five and walked three. 

With a record of 13-1, the Beavers have now won 12 games in a row. They will look to keep the streak intact Wednesday when they visit the Estevan Brewers. Their next home game is scheduled for Saturday at Tom Laing Park against the Assiniboia Aces.
