The 7th Avenue is a group of four Weyburn teens that love to entertain crowds with their music when they aren't busy with school or their many extracurricular activities.

All four boys attend the Weyburn Comprehensive School. Three of them are graduating this year while the youngest finishes Grade 11.

This Wednesday The 7th Avenue is excited to release their first official single to the public. So they came into the Discover Weyburn station to talk about their band and what all they've got planned. Full video interview below.

"So Cywin and I got together to write this song and we called it Growing Up," told Brayden King, a member of The 7th Avenue. "It's about the struggles of getting older when you're in high school. Not knowing where you want to be when you grow up. We just recorded it with Rylan Chessall in the summer and we're finally getting to realease it now."

Since the boys were in the studio, we asked them to perform an acoustic version of their new song Growing Up. Checkout the video below.

The boys also let Discover Weyburn know that they have another single they are currently working on as well.

"We just recorded our rough draft on a phone about four days ago and we like how it sounds," said King. "We called it Summer of 17 and it's basically just about having a great time with your friends. We said, while we were recording the new one that it's really great that we can change whatever we want cause it's our song"

Discover Weyburn asked the boys how they came up with the name The 7th Avenue and their response can be viewed in the video below.

The 7th Avenue plans to put on as many shows as they can before the end of the summer when they all go their seperate ways for at least a year.

"We'll be playing Pump Jacks in Weyburn on March 17th for St. Paddy's Day," said Cameron MacMurchy, one of the members of The 7th Avenue.

Their first single Growing Up drops on Wednesday. So we asked the boys where their song can be found.

"So on Wednesday the song will be released on iTunes," told King. "But according to our producer streaming sites like Apple and Spotify may have it a few days later. We'll keep that updated on our Facebook and Instagram. You can follow us on Facebook at The 7th Avenue and on Instagram at The 7th Avenue Band."
