Well with 15 amazing sponsors this year, we needed to double up our deliveries and send two cruisers down the gravel roads in one day, and today Mryglod Steels & Metals sent the first load to just outside of Fillmore to Jordan Lynch's family farm, and the second meal headed to the Lang area to feed Dave Buckart's crew thanks to Super Seed.
We asked Jordon Lynch how harvest was going this year, to which he replied, "It's not bad! We're picking away slowly but surely, just trying to keep ahead of whats ripe and whats not. [Crops] aren't as good this year as last year, but surprisingly good for the lack of rain we've had."
The Lynch crew included a few family members, and some hired hands, including one from New Zealand and another from Australia. They have finished up their Winter Wheat, are just finishing up the lentils, and will be heading to the durum and canola crops next.
The other cruiser made its way down the dirt path to the Lang area where they caught up with Dave Buckart and his crew, where KFC was enjoyed in a durum patch.
When asked how things were working out for them so far Dave Buckart said, "In durum we're running in the high 30's (yield), so it's not bad and the grade is really good. The lentils came off great and went good, the yields were down, but overall can't complain right now. If the weather hangs on here, we'll just keep on going."
