The Weyburn and District United Way are gearing up for another Communithon and we are taking time to highlight all the member agencies that benefit from this annual event.
Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan is one of those agencies.
"We provide personal and family support following a spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities," said Regional Manager Sandy Doran. "We do that through rehabilitation, where we help our clients navigate the system and find the supports they need to be active, independent and self reliant."
They also provide peer mentoring and support and employment services, along with many programs, subsidies and scholarships.
"We have 40 clients in the Weyburn region," added Doran. "Our client services co-ordinators worked with these clients and their families to provide support in daily living activities and enhancing their community inclusion."
Doran also noted a big event that was held in 2017. We have more on that in the full interview below.
Communithon will run October 19th.
