The Weyburn Kinsmen and Mark's Work Warehouse are teaming up for a new fundraiser this month.
"It is our Jumpstart Fundraiser Slo-Pitch tournament," said Trudy Shangraw, organizer for the event.
Jumpstart helps underprivileged kids partake in sports in the community and this year Trudy hopes to help out the organization in a big way.
"It's always been a huge dream of mine to have this," she said. "I hear how these other cities have these big Jumpstart events happening so the more I saw that, the more I got involved with Jumpstart, the more I want it for our community and, if it's something that really goes over well, I don't want to stop at one year.
The tournament will take place at Nickle Lake Regional Park May 26th and 27th. It is $120 per team, which requires 4 males, 3 females and 3 children or youth between the ages of 9 and 16. Along with the tournament, there will also be face painting, balloon animals by Richie Roy, and a Sunday brunch. The registration deadline is May 12th and you can register your team by contacting Trudy at [email protected] or by calling 306-842-0787.
"Come out and have a lot of fun!"
