ISC is still taking applications for this year’s Century Family Farm Awards.

The award program honours producers that still farm or ranch on land that has been held within the family for the past hundred years or more.

Jeff Stusek is President and CEO of ISC and says it’s a great way to honour the heritage that helped to shape our province:

"Within the records we store I think this is a fantastic celebration for the people of Saskatchewan, the farmers, the ranchers that have been the backbone," he said. "This is my favourite event every year is getting out there and listening to the stories, shaking hands with the families that have gone through 100 years of farming or ranching."

March 15 is the application deadline for the 2017 Awards,  which will be handed out June 6th in Regina and June 7th in Saskatoon.

Families receive century family farm award certificates, a copy of the original land grant or title as well as an indoor wall plaque or they can opt to purchase a wooden gate sign.
