Producers taking part in the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association Zone 7 Annual Meeting yesterday in Kyle got an update on the Bovine TB Investigation.

At this point, there are no animals under quarantine in Saskatchewan at this time.

Three premises have been released from quarantine, while  4 quarantines remain on 2 premises.

The animals from those 2 premises had co-mingled with the infected herd and were destroyed.  The premises must still go through cleaning and disinfection before the quarantines are lifted.

Dr Wanda Mann is a retired veterinarian that was called back to work with the CFIA on the investigation:

"Producers in the area should know that the investigation is on-going the infected premise and the presumed infected premises has been depopulated," Mann said.

"Work is carrying on continuing testing with the emphasis moving forward on the trace in herd looking for the source of the infection."

Mann says identified trace-in producers will be contacted this fall or over the winter about further testing.
